A duty to protect citizens and uphold justice

It is unacceptable when those we rely on to keep us safe exhibit cowardice. People in positions of authority, such as law enforcement officers and politicians, have a duty to protect citizens and uphold justice. When they fail to do so, it can lead to a breakdown of trust and an increase in crime and violence. It is important that those who choose these professions understand the gravity of their responsibilities and act in accordance with their oath to serve the public. Anything less is a betrayal of the trust placed in them by the people they serve. All lives matter more than Uvalde's coward cops.
